On Thursday, 5 March 2020 the European Commission presented its new Gender Equality Strategy 2020-2024. The document sets out an ambitious plan to advance opportunities for women across Europe, allowing them to thrive and achieve success throughout their careers.

AmCham EU voices its support for gender equality and looks forward to working together with the European Commission, the European Parliament and the Member States on this crucial initiative.

In our Agenda for Action 2019-2024, we outline that we cannot address the appetite for change with ‘business as usual’: there is a legitimate expectation for business to contribute to addressing societal issues through concrete actions.

Our member companies support more than 4.8 million jobs across Europe. There is a clear and undisputable business case for advancing female participation and gender diversity at all levels of business. Our Diversity and Inclusion Task Force seeks to raise awareness of the importance of diverse and inclusive work environments by showcasing the initiatives that our companies have undertaken.

AmCham EU is ready to play its part by partnering with government and civil society, and working collaboratively towards achieving greater gender equality in Europe and beyond.
