TTC: Priorities for the third ministerial meeting

On Monday, 5 December, the third ministerial meeting of the EU-US Trade and Technology Council (TTC) will take place in the Washington, DC area. As leaders prepare to convene in a few days, the American Chamber of Commerce to the EU (AmCham EU) has outlined its priorities in areas such as emerging technologies, sustainability, resilient supply chains and healthcare.

TTC: Priorities for the third ministerial meeting

On Monday, 5 December, the third ministerial meeting of the EU-US Trade and Technology Council (TTC) will take place in the Washington, DC area. As leaders prepare to convene in a few days, the American Chamber of Commerce to the EU (AmCham EU) has outlined its priorities in areas such as emerging technologies, sustainability, resilient supply chains and healthcare.

The difficult external environment demonstrates that the case for transatlantic cooperation has never been stronger in recent years. Now is not the time for new trade tensions. The creation  of a joint Task Force on the US Inflation Reduction Act, for instance, is appositive step towards creating better understanding and addressing issues. Advocating for open, rules-based trade in Strasbourg

On Tuesday, 25 and Wednesday, 26 November 2025, AmCham EU travelled to the European Parliament in Strasbourg, France. Over the two-day programme, the delegation met with nearly a dozen MEPs and advisors for an exchange on the future of EU trade policy. Discussions centred on the importance of transatlantic cooperation, the ratification of the EU-Mercosur agreement and the implementation of the EU-US Framework Agreement. Members underlined the need for an ambitious EU trade agenda that ensures market access, reduces tariff and non-tariff barriers and strengthens the resilience of European industry. The delegation also called for a swift adoption of the Commission’s proposal on tariff reduction on US industrial goods and reiterated the importance of a pragmatic, forward-looking transatlantic agenda that promotes predictability and economic security.

Digital Economy Conference 2025: in review

AmCham EU’s 2025 Digital Economy Conference took place on Thursday, 20 November with the theme ‘A transatlantic agenda for growth, innovation and simplification’. The event brought together policymakers, regulators and industry leaders to explore how Europe and the US can align efforts to promote responsible innovation, resilient infrastructure and forward-looking regulation in a rapidly evolving digital landscape. 

Malte Lohan, CEO, AmCham EU, opened the conference with remarks highlighting the importance of strong transatlantic partnership to shape digital policy in an increasingly complex global environment.
